The Pollokshields Trust is inviting local groups and organisations operating in Pollokshields to a ‘gathering of partners meeting’ on the 6th of December at 11am.

The purpose of the meeting is to find ways in which local organisations can partner us in delivering wider regeneration and community development activities in the area, this includes utilising the Bowling Green to its full potential.

Over the last two years The Pollokshields Trust’s flagship project, The Bowling Green has been a huge success. Our volunteers, staff and partners have delivered an amazing programme of activities for our communities and helped transform the greenspace into an inclusive, joyous, welcoming and much needed community hub in East Pollokshields. However, we find ourselves like many grassroots projects squeezed by a lack of funding. Given the current cost of living crisis this is likely to continue. The Trust has had to make some hard decisions in recent weeks in order to strengthen our governance and focus our activities.

We would like to welcome you to a get-together of peer organisations who deliver high quality and much needed projects in our neighbourhood, to discuss ways in which we can utilise the Bowling Green to the advantage of your members and service users and maximise the potential and sustainability of the community’s common space for the mutual benefit of all in East Pollokshields.

St Alberts Primary, 6th December 11-12pm.

We have been thrilled to welcome the YCSA to the Bowling Green to host their summer programme. A group of 11-18 year olds have been enjoying activities at the site every day and we have constructed a new chillout zone for them to hang out in.

We were so pleased to be able to help this fantastic charity at short notice to ensure the summer programme could go ahead as planned. The charity helps Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic young people, aged 10 – 25 embrace their potential to become active and valued members of our diverse society, developing the skills and leadership abilities to succeed in life.

We’re looking forward to sharing their adventure this summer. To find out more about the great work that YCSA does, visit their website.

Dates: 7th July for 4 weeks
